| Diversity and depth are two words people use when they refer to the glass art community of Western Canada. This exhibit explores the variety of art being created in the region at this moment in time. In continuing tradition a prize will be awarded for the Jury's selection of the best piece in the show. This piece will be added to the art collection of Simon Fraser University. This serves to build a collection of art representing the evolution of the British Columbia glass art community. |

8th Biennial Glass Art Exhibition August 10 to 29, 2007 |
| For nearly two decades, Simon Fraser University has hosted a biennial exhibition of some of the best work from B.C. artists working with glass. Whether the glass is blown, stained, cast, carved, fused, or flame-worked, there is no limit to the creativity and inventiveness these artists apply to their chosen medium. Many are drawn to work in glass by its unequalled ability to hold, reflect, transmit, and capture light. This juried group show, first held in 1990, is the only exhibition in Western Canada that regularly directs academic attention to the diversity and artistic depth of glass art. |
