Christmas Sale at Robert Held Art Glass
November 21-23, 2008

Sixteen members of the BCGAA set up shop in the hot shop at Robert Held's. There was "Cooking with Glass" on Friday night, along with a blowing demonstration by Robert Held and a large team executing a snowman. The cooking demo involved pouring hot glass over a dutch oven full of spiced potatoes, and then grilling steak directly on hot glass poured on a marver. Some of the blowers present were aghast at the amount of glass used up in the process, and the shop doors had to be opened to vent the smoke from the sizzling steak. But all agreed it was incredibly fun. Then a large team set up to make a snowman complete with scarf and top hat.

Saturday and Sunday saw some collaborative work done in the hot shop, lampworking demonstrations, and lots of social interaction. Altogether a fun weekend, and some money made.
